How Practical Are E-Bikes for Daily Commutes?

I use escooter and I find it very reliable for daily commute, I haven't used ebike but I would like to know how reliable are they during busy routines? Are ebike really good for daily commute? Do you find them faster or more efficient than public transport or cars? What are the major challenges of using ebikes for daily commute?

I find my electric scooter very useful for daily commute. In our country, the primary source of electricity is hydro electricity and electricity prices is less than 10 cents per unit. I used to spend around $1 on petrol when I was using petrol scooter but these days it is just around 40 cents in a day.
