How Do E-Bikes Perform on Off-Road Trails?

I haven't used ebike yet, but I am thinking to get one. I have a farm house and it is few kilometers off road from the highway, I want to get a foldable ebike that I can take for off road riding. Has anyone taken their e-bike off-road? How does it handle rough terrain compared to a regular mountain bike? How often do you switch to pedaling.

They perform well on off road.. Generally speaking, most bikes have big tires (as compared to regular bikes or even mountain bikes) and when the tires are big, it is easier to ride off road.
