I tend to see a lot of e-bike and e-scooter riders when I am out and about, but I very rarely see those who are using these to get around wearing a helmet for their safety.

Are you someone who uses a helmet when you are using your e-bike or e-scooter? If you do not, what is your reason for not doing so?

Absolutely — wearing a helmet when cycling on an e-bike or an e-scooter is always a must for me, and I find it to be one of the easiest ways of dramatically increasing my safety on roads. The acceleration of e-bikes and scooters is faster than most people think, and even when going 15–20 miles per hour, any slip, obstacle, or inattention can result in a nasty fall. With a helmet on, even a potentially devastating head injury becomes a minor bruise to the ego.

Besides obvious safety, wearing a helmet brings several other advantages. For instance, knowing that I am protected increases my overall confidence. Another advantage is that drivers tend to give me more space as it is proven that motorists act more carefully towards cyclists who wear helmets. In addition, modern helmets are relatively lightweight and equipped with proper ventilation, and many of them even have integrated lights or indicator lights that increase visibility in mornings or evenings.

In conclusion, I should emphasize that wearing a helmet is not based on fear. It is rather an additional measure that helps me feel more secure while having no power over traffic or weather.

In our country, wearing a helmet is mandatory while riding e-bike and e-scooter. If you don't you will have to pay a penalty. I have e-Motorbike and I always wear helmet.
