How do you secure your ride when parking in the city?

I would imagine that no matter where you are in the world, leaving your e-bike or e-scooter unattended is always a big concern, and you would need something that secures it so no one can steal it, especially if your commute is a distance from home.

How do you secure your ride whilst parking in the city? Have you ever used a method that resulted in your e-bike or e-scooter being stolen?

I park my e-bike in the designated parking spot for e-bikes because that's where it's safer. There's automatic lock which I use to lock my e-bike whenever I park it in public places. I wouldn't risk it not having the bike locked and it gets stolen because people can steal anything these days.

I always lock my e-bike to a solid bike rack or pole and avoid isolated places. If I'm leaving it for longer, I remove the battery whenever possible. It takes a few extra minutes but gives me much more confidence. For my escooter, I lock the handle as well.

Removing the battery of your e-bike when you're leaving it locked out for a long period of time is the smartest thing to do. This is because without the battery, it's nearly impossible for anyone to drive it when it's stolen unless they are going to carry it on walking which looks suspicious.
