Most of us use our e-bikes and e-scooters for daily commutes, and you can often tell how much that can take its toll on your battery unless you find ways to help extend the battery life for your daily commutes.

What have you found to be the best ways you have been able to extend your battery life during daily commutes?

There are ways to increase the efficiency of the battery on daily rides with your e-bike by riding efficiently and taking care of the battery. One of the main things that help in saving energy is lowering the amount of assist you use at any point in time. Keeping your tires properly inflated to minimize rolling resistance is also beneficial. Avoiding sudden accelerations from rest is highly recommended since they consume large amounts of energy. Storing your battery inside is another good thing to do, especially when it gets cold outside. Charging your battery efficiently is very important; it should be charged at about 20 to 80 percent rather than being charged to 100 percent each time. Lighter bikes are easier on their motors, so reducing weight helps.

I follow 20/80 rule. I don't let the battery level go down 20 percent and never charge above 80 percent. I also avoid using the throttle to start from a complete stop.
